Sony Announces “PSP Remasters” for the PS3

Sony recently unveiled the PSP Remaster series for the PlayStation 3. Basically, this is a new line of games which will have further interactivity, like the possibility of exchanging saves between both systems.

This seems like a very interesting idea, as it allows users to start playing a game on the PS3 and continue it on the go. According to Sony, the games will receive a new high-definition treatment and will be released on Blu-Ray discs. Additionally, there will be many more features like downloadable content and 3D support. But besides the possibility of transferring saves between platforms, PS3 and PSP players will also be able to interact using the wireless ad hoc multiplayer option.

According to the official press release, the PSP Remasters will be soon launched in the Japanese market and the first game officially announced is Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. from Capcom. As you may infer from the name, this is an HD version of the game, which happens to be extremely popular in Japan selling more than 4 million copies since its release. No date has been confirmed for the release of the game yet, but we’ll probably know more about it at E3.
