Recently, Electronic Arts stated that preorders for Battlefield 3 were 10 times higher than those of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Yesterday, online UK retailer Amazon released preorder data for a better comparison, showing that Battlefield 3 is also surpassing its predecessor (2005 military first-person shooter Battlefield 2) significantly. The retailer explained that Battlefield 3 preorders have increased 2,302 percent when compared to Battlefield 2. Those reserving a copy of the game will get some additional content which includes some additional character skins, and for many fans this is an important incentive to get the military shooter on that site.
Additionally, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still the most preordered game as of this moment. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game are the most popular in the site. On the other hand, the PC and Xbox 360 editions of Battlefield 3 are trailing a little bit, but also prove to be extremely popular.
Modern Warfare 3’s preorders are being compared to those of its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Amazon says that MW3’s preorders are up by more than 300 percent. To analyze this more clearly, it should be noted that Black Ops was the best-selling game in the Amazon UK site.
According to the retailer, other anticipated games include Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Gears of War 3 and of course, FIFA 12.
