Call of Duty: XP will be the first annual convention that’ll celebrate the military shooter franchise. Activision announced that all those fans who attend the event (which will take place in Los Angeles, California in September) will be given a voucher that can be exchanged for a copy of Modern Warfare 3: Hardened Edition when it comes out in November.
The publisher confirmed that they’ll be handing out these codes to all those who go to the convention. In any way, details about how players will be able to redeem it haven’t been given yet, so expect more news about the topic soon.
Furthermore, the company made reference to Call of Duty: Elite a recently announced live-action series based on the franchise. It’s said that the series is actually in development and a preview of it will be shown at the CoD: XP convention.
The two-day event will feature a $1 million Modern Warfare 3 tournament and the possibility of entering a paintball match which will be an actual recreation of a popular Call of Duty map (Scrapyard.) Tickets for the convention are currently on sale for $150 each, these are valid for both days of the show and all the money is going to charity to help war veterans.
