Battlefield 3 comes out on October 25 and Electronic Arts wants to test the game extensively before its official release date. The publisher announced that the open beta for the multiplayer mode starts on September 29 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Furthermore, those people who have preordered the PC version of the game through Origin (EA’s digital distribution service) or bought a limited edition copy of Medal of Honor last year will be able to get in the beta on September 27. The beta will feature the Operation Metro map in the Rush game mode, which allows two teams to control various strategic points in the map.
The first-person shooter military game has a single-player campaign and a multiplayer one, in the latter up to 64 players can participate (PC version only.) Additionally, the game has a cooperative mode, multiple vehicles, a stunning new graphics engine (called Frostbite 2,) and several game modes like Conquest, Rush and Squad Rush, among others.
