Gameloft Wants to Make iOS Releases Universal

According to an article on Joystiq, New Zealand based company Gameloft wants to release their upcoming titles for all the platforms instead of specific ones. In other words, the developer is hoping to release iOS titles universally and these would be compatible in a cross-platform fashion. So for example, if you want to play Order & Chaos Online you can play it on either the iPhone, iPod Touch or the iPad and all these versions would be exactly the same.

In any way, it is said the Gameloft is still likely to license a different iPad version, but players can play the regular version right away and additionally buy the HD one a couple of months later. When the game first comes out the company expects to keep all the release dates as close as possible.

As I previously mentioned, one of Gameloft’s most well-known titles is Order & Chaos Online, a fantasy MMORPG that’s available for both iOS and Android devices. The game has become quite successful and it’s famous for being the first MMO to be released on the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Also, the game’s art style looks exactly the same to World of Warcraft, so if you’re fan of the latter and you want to experience a Massively Multiplayer Online title on the go, this game is probably your safest bet.
