“Persona 4: The Animation” Licensed in the U.S.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 was arguably one of the best games in the series. The role-playing game was really well received by critics and fans of the series alike, as it offered a fast-paced gameplay, an engaging story, a great art style and an inspired soundtrack. Now, various sources state that Persona 4 will be getting an anime series really soon.

It should be noted that the game has also had a manga adaptation and soon it’ll receive a fighting game spin-off and a PlayStation Vita remake named Persona: The Golden. The aforementioned remake will include some new features like animated cutscenes and wireless support.

The anime series has already been announced for Japan early this year, but American fans will also receive an English-speaking version of this animated adaptation somewhere around 2012. Sentai Filmworks will be in charge of the series and they are planning to make 25 episodes which will eventually be available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Furthermore, Persona 4 isn’t the only game in the series receiving an animated adaptation as Trinity Soul was a spin-off of Persona 3. Its animation was incredible and the story was also really interesting as it took place ten years after the events of the game. If Persona 4: The Animation receives a similar treatment, fans have nothing to worry about. Personally, I’m really looking forward to it.
