Monday Night Combat is a downloadable third-person shooter game developed by Uber Entertainment and published by Microsoft Games. The title was released for both the Xbox 360 and the PC and it was quite well received by critics, mainly for its unique style and graphics. Those who want to play the PC version of the game will be happy to know that it’s now available as a free-to-plat title. Uber Entertainment will release Super Monday Night Combat ( a follow up to Monday Night Combat) for the PC later this year.
Like many current games (like Age of Empires Online, Team Fortress, League of Legends, DotA 2 and so on,) Super Monday Night Combat will implement microtransactions for certain items and content like updates. According to GiantBomb there will be some changes in the gameplay, teams will be grouped in five-on-five (instead of six-to-six,) a new leveling up system will be featured along with new characters, environments and various upgrades.
For the past few months the Free-to-play model has proven to be extremely successful for certain games and it’s a matter of time before every single genre starts applying it somehow. The whole concept is extremely interesting as it allows users to buy the content they want instead of having to pay for an expensive package.
