A few days ago, Sony was teasing a big project on Facebook and many people were predicting that the “Will Vengeance Bring Redemption?” teaser made reference to a new God of War game. That makes sense as Kratos is fond of vengeance and is always seeking redemption, right? If you are one of those people, kudos to you as a new God of War game has just been officially announced for the PlayStation 3.
In fact, the announcement was leaked on Amazon as an Amazon Listing for the game (which included a tentative box art and an official trailer) was found. The game is called “God of War: Ascension” and interestingly enough it doesn’t include IV in its title. In fact, the trailer (which you can watch right after the break) suggests that the game will be a prequel, but unfortunately there’s no gameplay footage or further details about the story.
It’s worth pointing out that soon after the game leaked, Sony officially confirmed the existence of the game via their Facebook page. On a more personal note, I’m really excited about a new God of War title coming out soon, but I definitely have some catching up to do. I should watch all the custscenes from the original game again, replay God of War II at some point and try to get the PSP games (Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta,) just in case. I have absolutely no idea what the upcoming God of War may be, but I’m pretty sure it’ll have blood and sex minigames.
