Adapting the Pac-Man story to a short film must be one of the most challenging tasks ever. Nevertheless, if you also happen to think that Namco’s franchise doesn’t translate very well to the big screen, a fan film created by Steelehouse Digital is about to prove us both wrong. The main story of PAC-MAN: The Movie (not to be confused with the other Pac-Man: The Movie fan film) takes place in Maze Compound, an underground military facility that is working on a top secret project known as Yellow Sphere. Without giving away too much, let me just say that the tongue-in-cheek and self-referential humor suits the short film quite well, the story is really well written and the dialogues are extremely amusing (apparently, Pac-Man stands for Polymorphic Autonomous Compound Manipulator.)
