The original Phantasy Star Online came out for the Dreamcast in 2000 and was extremely well received by both critics and fans of the MMORPG genre. The title influenced multiple titles such as the .hack series, Final Fantasy XI and even the Monster Hunter franchise. PSO was simply ahead of its time and many still remember it as one of the greatest games of all time. When a direct sequel was released on July 4th 2012 for the PC in Japan, most American and European fans demanded a release date for their territories. Thankfully for them, SEGA has announced that PSO2 will come to North America and Europe in early 2013.

In addition to the PC version, iOS, Android and Vita versions of the free-to-play game have also been confirmed. Phantasy Star Online 2 features an engaging real-time combat, a class-based leveling system, three races (Human, Newmen and CAST) and randomized dungeon maps.
