There have been dozens of Minecraft clones since the sandbox-building indie title came out (just in case you were wondering these are some of the best games similar to Minecraft,) but only a handful of them have truly succeeded at offering a truly unique experience that departs from Minecraft’s premise. Terraria is such game, mainly because it’s much more than Minecraft in 2D as some people have described it.
Thankfully to those players who haven’t had a chance to play Terraria because it’s PC-exclusive, the developers have announced that a PSN and XBLA versions of the side-scrolling action-adventure game are coming soon. The official announcement can be read on Terraria’s Facebook page which also states that these upcoming console versions will include exclusive new content. Additionally, the developers said that the game is coming in early 2013.
In the meantime, those who have some free time and are willing to pay $9.99 for the Steam version of Terraria (it’s definitely worth it) should definitely check it out.
