A while ago, I was trying to track down a physical copy of La Pucelle: Tactics for the PlayStation 2 and that endeavor proved to be much more difficult that I had predicted. Eventually, I found a place that specializes on classic titles and older systems, but for some reason I never bought the game. Thankfully, fans of strategic role-playing games won’t have to jump through that many hoops in order to get a copy of La Pucelle: Tactics, since the tactical title developed by Nippon Icchi Software will return as a downloadable PlayStation 2 Classic.
The isometric game features some compelling mechanics such as the possibility of training monsters that may join your party and Dark Portals that serve as respawning points for those creatures. Additionally, if you train your monster too hard, it may run away. But if the monster is satisfied with your training, it may use another ability known as Purification Power.
To be completely honest, one of the reasons why I was trying to find a physical copy of the game is because I wasn’t expecting it to come out digitally. Still, I’m glad I’ve waited as long as I did. La Pucelle: Tactics will be re-released on the PlayStation Network this Tuesday.
