I strongly believe that GOG (previously known as Good Old Games) is the best distribution service for games currently available. Not only did the service become extremely popular for selling classic games, but also for including a no-DRM policy to all of its titles. To me that’s a huge selling point. Now GOG is expanding once again, as they have announced that from now on, their service will have Mac support.
As of right now, GOG is offering 50 titles for Mac users, including Syndicate, Wing Commander, Simcity 2000, Theme Hospital, Botanicula, Darwinia, Multiwinia, Populous, FTL – Faster than Light and the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, among many, many others. In addition, some selected titles are available for half the price as a way of encouraging players to test this inviting new feature.
It’s worth noting that those games that are available for both Mac and PC can be obtained for the price of one. That means that if you buy a game for Mac, you can also download that very same game for PC and vice versa.
Finally, those interested in the full list of games available for Mac OS X, can visit GOG’s full catalogue. Note that there are a couple of games available free of charge.
