For a while now, Sega have been re-releasing lots of classic series on modern consoles. As a way of continuing this trend, the company has announced that they will release ToeJam & Earl and its sequel ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron on November 6th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
The re-released games will cost $4.99 each or they can be obtained through a bundle titled Sega Vintage Collection which will feature both of them. The Sega Vintage Collection pack will cost $9.99 on PSN and 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that both titles have been updated to include online co-op, as well achievement/trophy support for their respective platforms.
Originally released for the Sega Genesis, the ToeJam & Earl games follow the story of alien rappers ToeJam and Earl. The platformers were really well received back in the day and are still fondly remembered for being original, additive and genuinely funny. Although the first game in the series didn’t sell very well (it has since become a cult classic,) it received two sequels: ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron and ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth.
