Mortal Kombat: Legacy Season 2 to Debut Q2 2013

mortal kombat legacy season 2

A few months ago, the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy was confirmed. After the huge success of the first season, it was pretty obvious that a second one was going to eventually be announced, but the people involved definitely took their time to reveal some details. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Season 2 will debut in Q2 2013 and the web series will come to YouTube courtesy of Machinima. For those who can’t wait that long, a clip will debut at the Streamy Awards on February 17th, 2013.

Still, it’s worth noting that there will be some changes in the cast. Although Kevin Tancharoen will return as director and writer, Matt Mullins (who played Johnny Cage on the first season) will be replaced by Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers.) Regarding new characters, Harry Shum Jr. (Glee) will play Kuai Liang and Brian Tee (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, The Wolverine) will play Liu Kang. Additionally, those who have watched the Mortal Kombat film back in the day will definitely recognize Cary Tagawa who will reprise his role as Shang Tsung. Finally, Ian Anthony Dale (Charm) will return as Scorpion.

That’s pretty much what we know about the second season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. But look at those names! Casper Van Dien? Brian Tee? Cary Tagawa? As someone who has really enjoyed the first season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy and is definitely familiar with most of the aforementioned actors, I can say only one thing: count me in!
