Today, the sixth generation of Pokémon titles were revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation. The titles are called Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and they will be released in October for the Nintendo 3DS.
Surprisingly, the games won’t be named after colors like most of the games in the main series (with the exception of Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.) Additionally, these will be the first games in the mainline series to show a fully 3D world and the first to come out for Nintendo’s latest handheld.
The three starter Pokémon have also been revealed and they include Chespin (Grass,) Fennekin (Fire) and Froakie (Water.) A few new legendary Pokémon can also be seen in the announcement trailer.
Pokémon X and Y will be coming out in October 2013 and both titles will be released simultaneously in America, Japan, Europe and Australia, so fans won’t have to wait for any sort of localization.
