Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Coming to Mac OS X on February 22nd

Baldurs Gate Enhanced Edition

Beamdog and Overhaul Games have announced that the Mac OS X version of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be released on February 22nd (that’s today!) The updated version of the classic computer role-playing game is now available on Beamdog’s official website for $19.99, with a Mac App Store release coming at a later date.

The PC and iOS versions of the turn-based RPG (which includes a remastered version of both Baldur’s Gate and its expansion, Tales of the Sword Coast) came out last year, but the Mac version was delayed because the development process took longer than expected. The only version of the game that hasn’t come out yet, is the Android one which is expected to come out soon. Overhaul Games is working on Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, but the company hasn’t provided many details about this upcoming remake.

It’s been years since I played a Baldur’s Gate title and I’ve been wondering if it’s worth going back to those games. Regardless of the way in which those games have aged, these remastered editions seem like a great way to experience the Baldur’s Gate series. The only thing I need is some free time.
