Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for PSP Now Available on Vita Store

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PS Vita)

For most people (myself included,) one of the most appealing reasons to get a Vita is to play PSP games in it. Nevertheless, Sony’s latest portable console isn’t compatible with every single PSP title, but little by little the Vita is getting older games through the PlayStation Store. That’s the case of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, since Konami has announced that the critically acclaimed stealth action game is now available as a Vita download on the PS Store.

In Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, you take on the role of Big Boss (previously known as Naked Snake) as he infiltrates the forests of Costa Rica and recruits soldiers to create a legendary military unit. From a multiplayer standpoint, the PS Vita version allows you to play cooperatively with up to four friends in a mode called CO-OPS (Cooperative-OPerationS) and competitively with up to six players. It’s worth mentioning that both the cooperative and competitive matches use the Vita’s Ad-Hoc capabilities.

I own the UMD version of the game, but I haven’t had time to play it yet. Nevertheless, taking into account that I’ve played the Metal Gear Essential Collection for the purposes of review (the compilation includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence,) I’ll definitely try to make some time to play Peace Walker on my PSP.
