If you see a game on smartphones that costs more than $9.99, it’s probably from Square Enix. As a way of maintaining that tradition, the company will release the smartphone version of Final Fantasy V for ¥1800 or US$19.
Last December, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy V was coming to iOS and Android and according to Famitsu, the RPG is coming to Japan this month. The remake is based on the GameBoy Advance version, but it’ll include redesigned sprites to make it look more modern. The iOS version of Final Fantasy V is coming out on March 28th and the Android version is expected to come out in the summer.
Although a western release hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s quite likely.
