InXile Entertainment, the company behind Wasteland 2, has announced a new project and surprisingly, it’s the follow-up to a beloved classic game. This week, the developer will be launching a Kickstarter campaign for Planescape: Tides of Numenera, a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed role-playing game Planescape: Torment.
Although most details will be revealed when the Kickstarter page launches, we know that Tides of Numenera is an isometric single-player RPG that will run on the Unity engine. The DRM-free title is coming to PC, Mac and hopefully, other platforms. Although the Kickstarter campaign will start this Wednesday (on March 6th to be more precise,) the funding target hasn’t been revealed yet.
InXile explained that this upcoming RPG won’t be a direct sequel to Planescape: Torment. Instead, Tides of Numenera will be a new game in the series. If this Kickstarter campaign is successful, the game will come out in December 2014, which gives me and many other lazy players plenty of time to play Planescape: Torment.
