Personally, the only reason why I’d like to have a Wii U is so that I can play all those classic titles that are released via the Virtual Console. The most recent addition to the retro digital distribution service is SNES classic Mega Man X. As a way of promoting it, Nintendo posted a video (which you can watch above) showing the game running on the Wii U GamePad.
I never finished the SNES version of Mega Man X, but I did review Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, an enhanced remake released on the PlayStation Portable. Interestingly, Mega Man X came out on many platforms, including the SNES, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, PlayStation 2 and GameCube, among others.
Apart from Mega Man X, other games coming out on May 30th in the Wii U Virtual Console include Ghosts’n Goblins and Spelunker. Mega Man X will cost $8 ($1.50 if you own the Wii version.)
