A Sad Platformer Makes a Mobile Platform Happy, Limbo Hitting iOS

Limbo (iOS)

Without a doubt, Limbo is one of the best indie titles to come out this generation and soon, you’ll be able to play that very same puzzle-platformer on an iOS device. Danish developer Playdead has announced that Limbo is coming to iOS on July 3rd for $4.99. The application will be compatible with the following devices and above: iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 5.

A long time has passed since Limbo was an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive. Since then, the black-and-white platformer has come out on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PC and Mac OS X. Playdead has also announced that as a consequence of their business decisions, Limbo has sold over 3 million copies across all platforms.

For the uninitiated, Limbo is a monochromatic platformer that puts you in the shoes of an unnamed child who explores harsh environments to search for his sister. The game adopts a trial-and-error approach and every time the player makes a mistake, the main character dies in a gruesome way. For more information about Limbo, read my review.
