Classic Arcade Shooter Ikaruga Is on Steam Greenlight

Treasure’s Ikaruga originally debuted in 2001 on the Sega NAOMI and was eventually ported to various home consoles, including the Dreamcast, GameCube and Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade. Now it seems like the game’s finally coming to the PC. Treasure will attempt to release the game on Steam using the Greenlight service.

For the uninitiated, Ikaruga is a vertical shoot ’em up where you control a small ship. Interestingly, enemies and bullets change between black and white colors and since your ship can change colors too, you can use this ability to your advantage. If you’re ship is the same color as enemy bullets, you can absorb them instead of taking damage.

The Steam version of the game is based on the Xbox 360 release, so there will be a cooperative mode, Xbox 360 controller support and Double Play Mode which let’s you control two ships with one controller.
