Time and time again, independent developers have tried to make their own version of Portal (I’m looking at you Magrunner.) Needless to say, most of those developers have failed miserably. But CubeHeart’s adventure puzzler Scale might be the one that makes it.
For the uninitiated, Scale is first-person game set in an amusing and colorful world. The game’s main draw is the possibility of using a gun to shrink or enlarge everything around you so that you can solve some unconventional puzzles. Although Scale shares a lot of similarities with Portal, the upcoming first-person puzzler also takes inspiration from The Swapper, Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda.
A few days ago, Scale has reached and surpassed its Kickstarter goal of $87,000 which means that the first-person puzzler is coming to PC, Mac, Linux and Steam Machines. On top of that, Scale will also be released for the Oculus Rift.
