Futurlab’s dual-stick shooter Velocity Ultra is coming to Steam this Christmas. From a technical perspective, Futurlab and Curve Studios have confirmed that the port will run at 60 frames per second and that players will be able to customize the controls. On top of that, the PC version will have Steam Trading Cards and Steamworks support.
Velocity Ultra is also coming to the PlayStation 3 with new features such as improved visuals, leaderboards and trophies. Despite the fact that there’s a PlayStation Vita version of the game, the PS3 version won’t feature the cross-buy/cross-save functionality.
In the meantime, Futurelab is working on Velocity 2X for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita which mixes top-down shooting with side-scrolling platforming.
The Windows version of Velocity Ultra is coming this Christmas, with the Mac and Linux versions coming at a later date.
