As a way of letting users share the experiences they’ve had with specific games, Valve has launched a new section called Steam Reviews. As its name suggests, the initiative allows Steam users to write reviews in the language of their choice so that other users can read, rate and leave comments on those reviews. Steam Reviews is now on beta, available for everyone.
According to Valve, Steam Reviews is an improvement over Steam Recommendations, a feature that has been on Steam since 2010. More than 7 million Recommendations have been submitted since its implementation.
The way in which Steam Reviews is extremely simply. Users can write reviews for any game they’ve launched via the Steam client (this includes free titles, Steam Free Weekend games and games played via Family Sharing) and other users can rate those reviews as helpful or unhelpful.
