Sony Announces Game Streaming Service, PlayStation Now Coming This Summer

PlayStation Now

During the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas, Sony announced a game streaming service called PlayStation Now which will use the Gaikai technology.

PlayStation Now will allow PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 games to be streamed over the internet to a variety of Sony devices, including Bravia televisions, tablets, smartphones, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The company is expecting to expand the service beyond PlayStation platforms and Sony devices eventually.

This service will launch on the PS3 as a closed beta and is expected to come out officially this summer. Users interested in playing the available titles will be able to rent games individually or they can subscribe to the PlayStation Now service.

The Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, God of War Ascension and Puppeteer will be some of the first games to be available on the game streaming service.
