The rumors were true! Final Fantasy III is coming to the PC via Steam, a page on the digital distribution service confirms. The version that’s coming to Steam is the three-dimensional remake that came out on the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable, so expect the upcoming version of the game to have improved visuals, an FMV opening scene, a redesigned job system, new abilities and classes, new items and so on.
The Steam version will also come with a couple of enhancements of its own, such as achievements, trading cards, full controller support and cloud support. As of this news article, a specific release date for the PC version of Final Fantasy III hasn’t been confirmed yet.
By the way, I recently played the PSP version of Final Fantasy III for the purposes of review, so I’ll try to post that article as soon as I can.
