For the past few months, developer Square Enix has released most of its classic role-playing games on mobile platforms. The latest release is Dragon Quest IV which is now available on the App Store for $18.99 and the application is compatible with the iPhone ,iPad and iPod Touch as long as they have iOS 7 or more. An Android version of the game’s expected to come out soon as well.
As usual for most applications in the App Store, the game first came out in New Zeland and it’s expected to come out in other territories soon. Interestingly, people noticed that Square Enix has made an unfortunate typo (they called the game Dargon Quest IV.) This led to a game on Twitter where people started changing the names of some of the most popular video game franchises. Some of the best ones are Angry Bards, Scared, Maniac Manson, Valkyrie Prolife, Lara Crafting: Tome Raider and so on.
Originally released in 1990 for the NES, Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen was really well received for its episodic structure, traditional gameplay and innovative story. The RPG was re-released and remade a couple of times and the most recent one was released in 2008, when Dragon Quest IV came out for the Nintendo DS.
