An improved version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming to the Xbox 360, developer Rockstar Games has announced on their support site.
It’s worth mentioning that GTA: San Andreas came out on XBLA, but that version has disappeared from the service and the upcoming HD port will replace it. If you bought San Andreas when it was part of the Xbox Originals program, you can still download that version of the game by going through your download list.
The new version of GTA: San Andreas will be out on October 26th (10 years after the release of the first version of the game) through Games on Demand and it’ll cost $14.99. Rockstar Games also confirmed that the new version will come with new features, including achievements and 720p visuals with “an enhanced draw system.”
In my review of the PlayStation 2 version, this is what I had to say about the free-roaming action game: “Not only is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas the best game in the series, but also one of the best titles of its generation.”
