Marvel vs. Capcom is leaving both PSN and Xbox Live Arcade next week, so if you are interested in getting the digital version of the game, you might want to do it as soon as you can. Capcom’s licensing deal with Marvel is probably over, so that’s why the game will be removed from digital stores. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened, since Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds was removed from digital stores in December 2013.
Developer Capcom has confirmed this on their official blog and the company also provided the dates in which the game will be leaving the digital stores for each territory. The game will be leaving PSN on December 23rd, 2014. Xbox 360 owners, on the other hand, have until December 31st to acquire the game.
For those unfamiliar, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins features Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Heroes and Marvel Super Heroes. Developed by Capcom and Iron Galaxy Studios, the fighting game compilation includes GGPO netcode, improved visuals, spectator mode and challenges.
