Homeworld Remastered Collection Makes Contact on February 25th

Developer Gearbox Software will release the Homeworld Remastered Collection on February 25th, the company announced during their PAX South panel. As the name suggests, this is a remastered, high-definition collection that compiles both Homeworld and Homeworld 2 and you can get it for $34.99. Pre-orders are available on Steam and if you purchase the game now, you get a 15% discount (that’s $29.74.)

Apart from having the remastered versions of both games, the collection will also include the original Homeworld and Homeworld 2 as a bonus. Additionally, anyone who purchases the collection will receive access to the Homeworld Remastered Steam Multiplayer Beta. That’s right, this updated version of the classic games will support multiplayer.

For the uninitiated, Homeworld is considered one of the best real-time strategy series ever made. The original Homeworld was released in 1999 and for many, the game revolutionized the strategy genre. The follow-up, Homeworld 2, came out in 2003 and was praised by critics for innovating in several aspects, primarily, the controls and multiplayer options.
