The iPad 2 was released early this year and it has been really well received by both critics and Apple fans, selling even more units than the original iPad. According to a Wall Street Journal report the company may be selling a new version of the popular device early next year.
The source states that “people familiar with the situation” have confirmed this and apparently, Apple is getting ready to launch the iPad 3 soon. The paper goes on to say that the company is ordering more supplies in order to produce more units and the device is expected to have a much higher resolution. The original iPad had a resolution of 1024 x 768 and the new one is expected to have 2048 x 1536 screen. Additionally, Apple is expecting to have components to produce up to 1-5 million iPad 3’s in early 2012.
For the past few years the company has been having really good sales and they have been improving significantly and steadily, but it may be hard to believe that they can do this once again. The only thing we can do right now is wait and see if the iPad 3 has some additional features apart from a better screen resolution.
