Over the years, there have been a couple of Capcom bundles, and in my opinion, one of the best ones has been Street Fighter Anniversary Collection for the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox. The compilation, which was released as part of Street Fighter’s 15th anniversary, included Hyper Street Fighter II – The Anniversary Edition and Street Fighter III: Third Strike – Fight for the Future. Now that the franchise’s 25th anniversary is coming up, Capcom is planning to release a limited edition box set that will have every major release since the first game came out in 1987.
The upcoming collection is called Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set and will come out on September 18th, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The box includes 18 discs, featuring Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (with DLC) and Street Fighter X Tekken (with DLC.) In addition, a documentary, two anime movies, the complete Street Fighter animated series, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie and eleven soundtrack discs will be included.
But that’s not all. An 8-inch statue of Ryu performing a deadly Shoryuken, a 64-page art book, Ryu’s belt and a certificate of authenticity will also be part of the collection. Finally, Capcom has recently confirmed that the PS3 version will come with download codes for the PSOne Classics version of all three Street Fighter Alpha titles, along with Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX for the PSP, the DLC for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition and 175 PlayStation Network avatars.
The Street Fighter Anniversary Collector’s Set will be out on September 18th, 2012 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will cost $149.99.
