Ratchet & Clank Collection Coming August 28th in North America

Ratchet and Clank Collection

Although I’ve played some of the Ratchet & Clank demos over the years, I’ve never been a huge fan of the series. I guess I’ve always been a Jak & Daxter kind of guy. But to be honest, one of the reasons why I haven’t played any of the platformers is because I’ve always been too lazy to track down old copies of those games. Thankfully for me and for all those players who find themselves in a similar situation, Sony announced that a Ratchet & Clank Collection is coming out on August 28th, 2012 for $29.99.

The package, which will be released as a celebration of the series’ 10th anniversary, features 1080p HD updates of the first three titles that came out on the PlayStation 2: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank : Going Commando and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (no, really! Those are the names of the games.) As usual, there will also be Trophy and 3D support (in 720p.) Additionally, Sony has confirmed that the online functionalities of Up Your Arsenal will work in this version, which is amazing because that was one of the main attractions of the game. As a bonus, the Ratchet & Clank Collection will include exclusive access to a Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo. Now that I think about it, I haven’t played any of the Sly Cooper titles either. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do…
