Independent developer Supergiant Games hid this quite well. The company has revealed that an iPad version of the action role-playing game Bastion is coming out today and it will contain the same experience as the PC and XBLA versions. It’s worth noting that the critically acclaimed game was supposed to come out on the iPhone as well, but due to technical reasons and the fact that the “experience would not translate well to the iPhone’s smaller screen,” the Apple’s tablet version will be the only one for one.
To suit the iPad better, the combat has been revamped to accommodate the touch controls and some of the weapons and upgrades have also been changed slightly. For more information about these changes, an official post on Supergiant’s website includes an extensive FAQ with everything you need to know about this release, so be sure to check it out.
From a more technical standpoint, the aforementioned FAQ states that Bastion runs on the iPad 2 and the new iPad and requires iOS 5.1 or higher.
Those interested in getting a portable version of the indie title can visit the App Store and buy Bastion for $4.99. There’s no demo version though, but I guess at this point, most people know if they want to invest in Bastion or not.
