The Kissing RPG Is Back, Chulip to Be Re-Released on the PS3

Are you up for something different? If you are, Chulip is definitely your game. For those unfamiliar, Chulip is an adventure/simulation title developed by a Japanese company called Punchline. In the game, you assume the role of a young man who needs to gain reputation in order to retrieve all the pieces of a love letter that has been stolen from him before he was able to give it to the girl of his dreams. How do you gain reputation? By kissing NPCs… duh!

But there’s a reason why nobody has heard of this game. After multiple delays, Chulip was released in North America as a GameStop exclusive and on top of that, the title came out quite late in the PlayStation 2’s lifecycle (while the Japanese version was released on October 3rd, 2002, the American version came out on February 13th, 2007, one day before Valentine’s Day.) Unfortunately, the game never received the attention it deserved.

Nevertheless, it looks like Chulip will have a second chance since the adventure/simulation may be coming out as a PlayStation 2 Classic for the PlayStation 3. The ESRB has recently re-rated the title which would indicate that Chulip might get a PlayStation Network release in the near future. Will you give it a chance?
