As of lately, Sony has really been supporting the PlayStation 2 Classics program. For instance, this week alone both Siren and Disgaea: Hour of Darkness are coming to the PlayStation Network. Next week is the turn of Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories which will also be released on the digital distribution service.
That’s right, the PlayStation Blog has just confirmed that Disgaea’s first iteration is hitting PSN this Tuesday. Following the release of Hour of Darkness, NIS America will be re-releasing Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, so fans looking forward to catch up with the series will really appreciate that both titles are coming out as PlayStation 2 Classics.
Personally, I recently got Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for the PSP. Although I haven’t had a chance to try the port yet, I read that it was really well received for incorporating appealing additions, such as a 16:9 screen format, Etna Mode, dual language option, some extra boss battles and a multiplayer mode, among others. Disgaea 2 also received a PSP port called Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days. The portable version features bonus material such as Axel Mode, additional monsters, more powerful spells and some new characters in the form of DLC.
