Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels Receives Update on XBLA, Debuts on PSN

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Decade Duels Plus (PSN, XBLA)

Although Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels came out in 2010 for Xbox Live Arcade, the title never made it to PlayStation Network. Luckily for fans of the card game, an updated version of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels is now available on both XBLA and PSN. It’s worth pointing out that those who purchased the discontinued version on XBLA will be able to download the new one free of charge.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Decade Duels Plus is available for 800 Microsoft Points on XBLA or $10 on PSN and for that price players get over 2000 playable cards, voice and text chat functionality, online multiplayer that supports up to four-player Tag Duels, online leaderboards and a variety of game modes (including Quick Match, Rank Match and Custom Match.) Additionally, Konami promises that hundreds of new cards will be available as DLC.

I was a huge fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise (including the card game, TV series and games,) but I lost interest as soon as GX introduced some unconventional rules. Maybe it would be a good idea to try to get a copy of Tag Force for the PlayStation Portable, since those games feature thousands of cards. Unfortunately, Konami never released those titles digitally, so the only way of playing it is by getting a physical copy. And I hate UMDs…
