Dust: An Elysian Tail is coming to Steam, creators Dean Dodrill and Alex Kain announced during their panel at PAX East. A release date wasn’t confirmed, but the developers said that the indie platformer could be coming to the popular digitial distribution service as soon as April.
It’s worth pointing out that Dodrill (who developed Dust: An Elisyan Tail almost single-handedly) began working on Dust in 2008, but he didn’t know anything about developing games. After learning some basic techniques, he hired Alex Kain to work on the game’s story and dialogue.
Now they are thinking about the possibility of making Dust 2 in the near future. In the meantime, those who haven’t had a chance to play the first Dust (myself included) will be able to do so when the platformer debuts on Steam.
