Fans of Minecraft who don’t have Xbox Live will still have a chance to play Mojang’s sandbox building game, since a disc-based version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is coming out on April 30th. This version of the game is coming to physical retailers in the United States for $19.99 and will include the same content that can be found in the XBLA version.
The disc will allow multiplayer gaming between retail and digital versions. Additionally, the retail version will receive the same updates as the downloadable one, but in order to have access to these updates, players need to be connected to the internet. The retail version is coming to Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan in early June.
I suspect that this disc-based version of Minecraft will do pretty well in terms sales, but I’m still waiting for the game to come out on a PlayStation console.
