E3 2013 Day Zero: Electronic Arts Press Conference

EA Logo E3 2013

The Electronic Arts press conference is now over. Overall, the company presented 11 titles and some of them look (and sound) quite appealing. Here are all the games that were featured in the presentation:

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare

PopCap games presented a Plants vs. Zombies spinoff: Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. Although Garden Warfare is still about fighting incoming waves of flesh-eating zombies, this title adopts a third-person perspective. The cooperative survivor mode was shown and while some people will talk about the different classes (offensive, defense, healer and so on,) the highlight of the demo was the game’s amazing sense of humor. Garden Warfare runs on the Frostbite 3 engine.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is coming first to Xbox One and then to Xbox 360.

Oh by the way! Peggle 2 is coming this year.

Vince Zampella from Respawn was here to announce that Titanfall is coming to Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC in Spring 2014.

The “Inside Titanfall” video was shown.

Star Wars: Battlefront

Dice is developing Star War: Battlefront. That’s the only thing we know so far.

Need for Speed: Rivals

Gameplay was shown. Races can start in single-player and end in multiplayer and there seems to be a smooth transition from one to the next. Actor Aaron Paul, who’s one of the stars from the upcoming Need for Speed film, showed a new trailer.

Would you like to know what do I think about said movie? Meh…

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Bioware is working on a new Dragon Age game. A CGI trailer was shown. Dragon Age: Inquisition is coming in fall 2014.

EA Sports

NBA Live 14

Kyrie Irving from the Cleveland Cavaliers appeared on stage. The game will make use of a new technique called “bounce tek,” which will allow players in the game to dribble in a much more realistic way. Additionally, the game will be part of the NBA Live World which will update data within the hour (whatever that means.) A short trailer was shown.

Madden NFL 25

Madden NFL 25 was shown. I couldn’t care less about a new Madden coming out and I didn’t understand anything that happened during that segment. Sorry?

A video showing some of the most recognizable players from Barcelona was shown. Messi, Pique, Iniesta and Xavi talked about football. The game includes new features, such as Pro Instincts, Precision Movement and Elite technique to make everything more fluid and realistic.

UFC 2014

An overly aggressive dude who made a poor job of making me want to buy his game, kept taunting me and everybody who watched the livestream. UFC is coming spring 2014 in case you’re interested.

Battlefield 4

A demo of the game was shown, 64 people were playing it live. One guy was saying something like: “let’s do this bro! I’m pumped!” That was the exact moment where I lost interest in the game.

Mirror’s Edge 2

A trailer was shown. The video ends with the message: “Coming.. when it’s ready.”
