The three-dimensional remake of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is coming to the west, Square Enix has announced. The game will launch on Android and iOS this winter, according to the Japanese company.
For the uninitiated, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy IV. Although originally released as a mobile title, an enhanced WiiWare port came out in 2009. Soon after that, the game became part of the PSP compilation Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection.
Now the game is coming as a 3D remake and as you can appreciate in the announcement trailer embedded above, the upcoming title looks absolutely stunning, especially if we compare it to the original 2D game.
It’s worth pointing out that even though Square Enix said that the remake of The After Years is coming to the west, a North American release hasn’t been confirmed yet. Also, the Japanese developer didn’t mention a price for the game. But taking into account that this is Square Enix we’re talking about, don’t expect less than $15.
