During Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show, the company announced a redesigned version of the PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi model. This new version of the portable console is 20% thinner, 15% lighter, has a more rounded design, a five-inch LCD screen (instead of the regular OLED screen of the original,) and extended battery life that lasts one hour more.
The PCH-2000 model (which comes with 1GB of built-in memory) is now available for pre-order in Japan for 19,929 yen (around $200.) The new model comes in black, white, lime green, light blue, pink and khaki.
The new version of the system will launch on October 10th. As of this news article, a release on the west (or an international release for that matter) hasn’t been confirmed.
