Valiant Hearts: The Great War Seems Like a Thoughtful Game about WWI

Ubisoft Montpellier recently announced Valiant Hearts: The Great War, their latest project that has been created with the UbiArt Framework engine (the same that powers Rayman Legends, Rayman Origins and the upcoming Child of Light RPG.)

The game is set in World War I and players will assume the role of five people from different countries who want to survive the conflict. Interestingly, each of these dissimilar stories will be tied by the same character: a medical service dog.

In terms of gameplay, Valiant Hearts combines platforming with light puzzle-solving. But the element that immediately stands out about this title is its gorgeous hand-illustrated visuals. Although the comic-book presentation exudes innocence, the subject matter seems quite somber and this contrast is one of the most attractive elements of the game.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The game will be available digitally in 2014.
