Curve Studios’ open-world game Proteus is coming to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, a PlayStation Blog post written by creator Ed Key has confirmed. But the upcoming version of the exploration title will include new features, such as the possibility of interacting with the environments using the Vita’s touch screen. Additionally, Proteus islands will be generated using geographical location and the current date.
Proteus is a game where players explore a procedurally generated island from a first-person perspective. The game launched for Windows PC and Mac in January and was lauded by critics for being atmospheric and deeply satisfying. In my review, I called Proteus “a thoughtful experience that you’ll remember long after your character has slowly closed his eyes.”
