Last year, Nintendo launched a new model of the Wii in Canada and earlier this year, the console made it to Europe. Now the system is coming to North America for $99 and includes a free game.
The Wii Mini will launch in North America by the middle of November for $99 and the console will include a copy of Mario Kart Wii. Apart from the free game, the console comes with a red Wii Remote Plus and a red Nunchuck controller.
So what’s the difference between a regular Wii and the Wii Mini? As a way of keeping the costs low, the Wii Mini lacks several features, including backwards compatibility with the Nintendo GameCube, online functionality and the ability of using SD cards.
By the way, doesn’t it seem ironic that the Wii Mini comes bundled with Mario Kart Wii which happens to be one of the best online games for the system?
