La-Mulana 2 Turns to Kickstarter, $200,000 Funding Goal

La-Mulana 2 is seeking a funding goal of $200,000 in Kickstarter and the upcoming project is in charge of Japanese developer Nigoro and publisher Playism. As its name suggests La-Mulana 2 is the sequel to 2006 cult 2D side-scrolling platformer La-Mulana.

As of this news article, the campaign has raised more than $109,000 with 30 days to go, which means that the sequel to La-Mulana is quite likely. An estimated release date of December 2015 was provided.

Originally announced last September during the Tokyo Game Show, La-Mulana 2 will put you in the shoes of explorer Lemeza Kosugi, the daughter of the first game’s archeologist. The game is being developed for the PC, but if some of the stretch goals are met, La-Mulana 2 might end up on other platforms, including Mac, Linux, 3DS, Vita, Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, among others.

The original La-Mulana was released for WiiWare in 2011. A remake came out for the PC in 2012 and that version made it to Steam thanks to the Greenlight program.
